For the Nuit Blanche 2022 in Paris, the churches of the city are offering us some very attractive programs. Head for the 12th arrondissement at 1, rue Cannebière or 186 avenue Daumesnil, depending on the entrance, to (re)discover theÉglise du Saint-Esprit , which is unveiling its program for the 20th edition of the Nuit Blanche in Paris and the Ile-de-France region.
Theprogram includes a musical show Du fond des âges. Fanny Perrier-Rochas and her Cappella compagnie invite us to an immersive concert, blending Eastern sacred chants in Arabic, Aramaic and ancient Greek with an electro-acoustic composition. Dare to enter this parish church, which reveals a monumental interior quite different from its exterior.

This red-brick church, reminiscent of northern houses, was built between 1928 and 1935 by architect Paul Tournon. The building's plan was inspired by that of Sainte-Sophie in Istanbul. Constructed in reinforced concrete to plans drawn up by François Hennebique's company, its cladding is in fact adorned with red Burgundy bricks. Its decorative program retraces the history of the militant then triumphant church, from the 2nd to the 20th century, and calls on the Ateliers d'Art Sacré, composed of the following artists: Maurice Denis, Georges Desvallières, Nicolas Untersteller and Elizabeth Branly for the murals and frescoes; Carlo Sarrabezolles for the sculpture; Louis Barillet, Paul Louzier and Jean Herbert-Stevens for the stained-glass windows; Raymond Subes for the ironwork; Marcel Imbs for the mosaics and cartoons for the crypt windows.
So, why not immerse yourself in an immersive concert? And to find out more about all the programs, check out the events in Paris by arrondissement and the program for theIle-de-France region.
