Paris is on the move! As the Olympic rings prepare to leave the Eiffel Tower in mid-September, the City of Light is not finished with the symbol of the Olympic Games. The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has announced that these emblematic coloured circles will return to the Iron Lady, but in a lighter version as soon as possible. The reason? The current ones are too heavy and unsuitable for long-term use.

Since June 2024, the Olympic rings have adorned the Eiffel Tower between the first and second floors. A special decoration, which should remain for the long term: Anne Hidalgo announced on August 31, 2024 that she had received the IOC's agreement to keep this symbol. [Read more]
While waiting for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to complete its technical study on the installation, temporary Olympic rings will adorn the nearby Pont d'Iéna, as stated by the town hall in a press release. The bridge will be reserved for pedestrians, cyclists, buses and emergency vehicles, and will become a new symbolic spot for the Games.
One thing's for sure: the Olympic rings are here to stay, whether on the steel of the Eiffel Tower or above the Seine. Paris will continue to shine under the colors of the Olympic Games!
