The Festival du Cinéma Bulgare à Paris, the only one of its kind in France, returns this year for its 6th edition, from September 10 to 13, 2024, at Le Grand Action cinema. This event, created by the Kino Kolektiv Association, has become a not-to-be-missed rendezvous for fans of Bulgarian cinema and international co-productions. This new edition, under the theme " Stronger Together ", features Bulgarian and international works, as well as collaborations with prestigious institutions such as La Fémis and award-winning films from the Cannes 2024 Film Festival.

This year's festival features four exceptional screenings, dedicated to Bulgarian short films and international co-productions. Highlights include The Forbidden Fruit by Venci D. Kostov, Bulgaria's first LGBTQI+ feature film, as well as two Cannes awards: The Shameless by Konstantin Bojanov and The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent, winner of the Palme d'Or for short film. Kamen Kalev's Orphée, a film produced in collaboration with La Fémis, will also be presented, testifying to the importance of cooperation between the French and Bulgarian film industries.

The Bulgarian Film Festival is supported by institutions such as La Fémis, NATFA (National Academy of Theatre and Film of Bulgaria), theBulgarian Embassy in France, and theFrench Institute in Bulgaria. This collaboration helps strengthen cultural ties between France and Bulgaria, with this year's event featuring a special networking and pitch session at the Bulgarian Embassy. This event will enable French distributors and producers to discover Bulgarian projects in development, thus encouraging future co-productions.

The 6th edition of the festival will be sponsored by Bulgarian director and producer Kamen Kalev(Eastern Plays), who will chair the jury alongside Leo Ortuno (journalist and critic), Elisabeth Kormanova (Rocket Science UK) and Maddalena Valencia (director from La Fémis). The jury will award the Jury Prize to the best short film presented during the festival. The Audience Prize will also be awarded, thanks to a collaboration with the gledam.bg platform, enabling Bulgarian film fans to view the short films online and vote for their favorite.

With outstanding works, international collaborations and networking moments dedicated to the film industry, the Bulgarian Film Festival in Paris continues to position itself as an exceptional showcase for Bulgarian cinema in France. This 6th edition, to be held from September 10 to 13, 2024, is a unique opportunity to discover committed films and support cultural cooperation between Bulgaria and France.
