Black and white horror… This is what Robert Eggers delivers with his latest movie, The Lighthouse, out in France on December 18, 2019 and in VOD from April 18, 2020. A movie presented during the latest Cannes Festival for the Directors' Fortnight and starring a dream duo, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe as two lighthouse keepers in New England. A movie showing us how two men can be alone and how this solitude can lead to insanity.
An intimate black and white movie in line with what Wes Anderson can make in some movies when it comes to framing and the aesthetic of the decors, with a few actors for an even more intense immersion into solitude and insanity. Note that the two actors are joined by Valerii Karaman, as a siren, probably fantastic endorsement (or leading to the insanity) of the movie. Prior to its release, the movie is an Official Competition entry at the Deauville American Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. Without further ado, let’s discover the trailer together!
