Todd Haynes will spend the month of May in France! The director of Carol, Dark Waters, or Velvet Goldmine, will be in Cannes to present May December, his new film in competition at the festival. But before that, he will be in Paris, at the Centre Pompidou to kick off a retrospective dedicated to his filmography. From May 10 to 29, all of the filmmaker's shorts and features will be screened in the center's cinema. It's an opportunity to rediscover them at low prices!
Plus, you'll be able to meet some amazing people! All screenings from May 10 to 15 will be introduced by the director, but also by the stars of the different films, so you can attend the presentations of Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Christine Vachon, Laura Rosenthal, Ed Lachman, and many others. Juliane Moore and Kate Winslet will be in virtual meetings on May 13 and 28. Masterclasses are also planned around Todd Haynes' filmography.
Finally, the retrospective will end with the premiere of May December on May 29. By then, the film may have received the Palme d'Or, or another prize awarded by Ruben Östlund's jury.
