The country holds sentimental significance for Andrew, as it's where he and his wife first met. In this role, Malkovich brings a special intensity to a man who, in his desire to move on, finds himself in unexpected situations.
Fanny Ardant, considered one of the most talented actresses of her generation, plays Nathalie, the owner of the Beauvillier estate where Andrew settles as butler. Her performance as a widow with mysterious activities is captivating. As for Émilie Dequenne, she brilliantly takes on the role of Manon, a housekeeper lost in her own life.
Eugenie Anselin and Philippe Bas complete this talented cast. Eugenie Anselin plays Odile, the manor's explosive cook, while Philippe Bas plays Philippe, the estate's perfectly mad steward.
