Released in 2014, How to Kill Your Boss 2 is the sequel to the hit comedy How to Kill Your Boss. Directed by Sean Anders, the film once again reunites the comedy trio of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis. This time, Nick, Dale and Kurt, fed up with being under the orders of their bosses, decide to go into entrepreneurship to gain more freedom. But things quickly turn sour when an investor swindles them, leaving them with no capital to pursue their dream. Their solution? A plan as absurd as it is risky: kidnapping.
In How to Kill Your Boss 2, Nick, Dale and Kurt, frustrated by their past experiences with tyrannical bosses, decide to take their future into their own hands by setting up their own company. Unfortunately, their dream of independence is quickly shattered when a cunning investor, played by Christoph Waltz, steals their entire capital, leaving them without resources or legal recourse. Desperate and unable to find a solution, they come up with an unlikely plan to get their money back: kidnap the investor's son, played by Chris Pine, and demand a ransom. Unsurprisingly, nothing goes according to plan, and the three friends find themselves once again plunged into a series of hilarious and disastrous misadventures.
This comedy will appeal to fans of absurdist humor and outlandish situations, in the vein of films such as Very Bad Trip or The Millers, A Family in the Making. Those who enjoyed How to Kill Your Boss will be delighted to meet up again with the dynamic trio of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, whose clumsiness and desperate attempts to solve their problems are the spice of the plot. The film plays on dark humor and misunderstandings, while focusing on the relationships between the three friends, who, although often overwhelmed by events, share a hilarious complicity.
The script, while a direct sequel to the first installment, introduces new characters such as Chris Pine, who brings an extra touch of madness, and Christoph Waltz, in the role of the skilled and ruthless villain.
How to Kill Your Boss 2, available on Max from September 1, 2024, is a wacky comedy where absurd situations and dark humor follow one another to the delight of fans of the first film. With a solid cast led by Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, this film promises another dose of laughter and chaos. If you're looking for light, irreverent entertainment, this sequel is sure to amuse.
