Gamescom 2024, which runs from August 20 to 24 in Cologne, is in full swing, unveiling surprises for video game fans every day. One of the highlights of this year's event is the announcement of Dying Light: The Beast, a new Techland game scheduled for release on PC and consoles. A title revealed duringOpening Night Live by Geoff Keighley.
"Dying Light: The Beast is a thrilling stand-alone zombie adventure set in a meticulously designed rural region. Play as Kyle Crane, a legendary hero who breaks free after years of brutal experiences. Now he must realize that there's more at stake than simple revenge.
In this opus, players will find Kyle Crane, the series' iconic protagonist, in a new open-world region. After 13 years of captivity in a mysterious laboratory, Crane embarks on a quest to track down his captors through Castor Woods, a once-touristy area now devastated by the apocalypse. The campaign is expected to last around 20 hours. Techland has clarified that"The Beast is neither an entirely new game nor the usual DLC", but rather a stand-alone, meaning that it can be played independently of the rest of the series.
The news also came with a pleasant surprise for owners of the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Indeed, as the official press release points out:"To thank the community that has patiently waited for the DLC, Techland will be offering Dying Light: The Beast free of charge to all owners of Dying Light 2 Stay Human Ultimate Edition, thus offering a complete stand-alone adventure instead of just DLC". The idea? To reward the loyalty of the community while expanding the already rich universe of Dying Light.
Although the release date is still unknown, the game is already available for pre-order on Steam and theEpic Games Store. Fans of the series can now add the game to their wishlist and look forward to diving into this new adventure. So get set!
