Good news, the Salon du Chocolat is back in Paris at the Parc des Expos de la Porte de Versailles from October 30 to November 3, 2024! Parades of chocolate dresses, chef demonstrations, monumental sculptures... Here's everything you need to know.
Time travel at the Salon du Chocolat de Paris 2024
This 29th edition of the Salon du Chocolat de Paris will focus on the theme of time. It's an opportunity to prepare for the show's 30th anniversary, and to celebrate the generations who have contributed to the incredible evolution of the pastry and chocolate-making professions over the last three decades.
And to embody this metamorphosis, what could be better than the world's only parade of chocolate dresses? As at every edition, the show will be punctuated by this event, starting with the inaugural evening on October 29, organized in aid of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association. Several celebrities, models for the occasion, will unveil 14 creations, including a particularly daring ephemeral one. Each day, at 4pm and 5pm, the show will take everyone on a journey through the ages, from Greco-Roman to Baroque to Sixties.
Big names for a tasty program
This year, more than ever, the Salon du Chocolat de Paris welcomes big names such as Nina Métayerand Jeffrey Cagnes, Philippe Conticini, Maxence Barbot, Matthieu Carlin and many others. Under Mercotte's watchful eye, they'll be making their recipes step by step, so that everyone can reproduce them at home.
For those who can't wait, Cake Time will offer the chance to taste refined, renowned pastry creations on site or take them to go, accompanied by tea carefully selected by George Cannon. Nina Métayer (Délicatisserie), Nicolas Guercio (Hôtel Lutetia, Paris) and Eddie Benghanem (Waldorf Astoria Versailles - Trianon Palace) will all be on hand in this converted tea room.
Activities for young and old alike
The Salon du Chocolat de Paris also offers the pleasure of wandering among the stands, meeting exhibitors and discovering new products and expertise. The highlight of this tasty stroll: the monumental works of art. This year, Saudi Arabia will be in the spotlight at the Salon du Chocolat de Paris 2024. The two-metre sculpture designed by a Saudi designer and created by master chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau is well worth a visit!
Young and old alike can also follow the various competitions, attend storytelling shows or learn how to make desserts such as the magical vegetal Pavlova with Maïssa Barka (Maïssa Gourmandise) or the Bombe Choco Coco with Claire Robert (Théobroma Collections).
Finally, for a magical interlude, visit the space dedicated to Yule logs and Advent calendars. Bringing together the creations of the world's greatest pastry chefs, this exhibition showcases their incredible work, from creation to production. Enchanting decorations, refined flavours, delicate textures... the magic of Christmas can already be felt at the Salon du Chocolat!
