Tick, tock, tick, tock... As the days go by, the 78th Cannes Film Festival draws ever closer. We now know which films will compete for the Palme d'Or, as well as those selected for"Un Certain Regard" and the Caméra d'Or. We also know that the jury for this new 78th edition will be chaired by Juliette Binoche.
On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, another piece of news broke. And not just any news. Mylène Farmer will be present at this year's Cannes Film Festival! Revealed by Brut, official partner of the event, the information has since been confirmed by the artist's entourage to AFP.
So, what can we expect? Remember, in 2021, Mylène Farmer was on the jury, chaired at the time by American director Spike Lee.
This year, for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Mylène Farmer is set to take to the stage to sing and deliver an " exceptional performance " at the event's opening ceremony, scheduled for May 13, 2025. Brut reports.
So far, no further information. And the mystery of this future performance is likely to remain until the last minute. But given the grand shows the singer puts on during her tours, there should be plenty to look forward to.
Mylène Farmer set French stadiums alight in 2023 and 2024 with her latest tour, entitled"Nevermore". In Paris, the artist performed no less than three concerts at the Stade de France. The"Nevermore" tour was also the subject of a film, shown in a single screening in cinemas on November 7 and broadcast on M6 television on February 8.
Join us on May 13 to discover Mylène Farmer on stage at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Last year, Zahode Sagazan charmed everyone with her cover of David Bowie's"Modern Love".
