1, 2, 3 Data at Paris EDF Foundation

From May 4 to October 6, 2018, 1, 2, 3 Data comes to the EDF Foundation. Don’t miss the occasion to discover this new original and free exhibition in which about forty data designers will present artworks which raw material is data.

In line with Artists and Robots – an exhibition running until July 9, 2018 at the Grand Palais – 1, 2, 3 Data, the new exhibition by the EDF Foundation offers you to discover works entirely made out of a unique and original material: data!

The EDF Foundation goal is to highlight the transformation of our world and its issues. So, this cultural space that aims at being a crossroad where people of today come to think about tomorrow’s society regularly offer free exhibitions open to all and where experts, artists or scientists come to share their ideas with the larger public.

While data are at the heart of the current news: how to regulate them? How long to store them? How to protect them? How to delete them? And many other questions have appeared on the font page of newspapers and magazines for the past decades, the EDF Foundation offers an artistic exhibition that gathers in one place, the works of about forty artists together, they all have in common that they have been working with these DATA.

The Group EDF Foundation offers this artistic detour to expand the thought about these issues and take part in the popularization of these data.

This exhibition evolves around two lines: solidarity and progress that are strong values within EDF, public service scientific enterprise.

Starting from the most artistical works, displayed on the ground floor, to end with more conceptual projects, the scenography lets the visitor roam the Foundation’s two stories. Works are organized around a smooth course in 3 movements: EXHIBITORY DESIGN (EXHIBITING) – EXPLANATORY DESIGN (EXPLAINING) – EXPLORATORY DESIGN (EXPLORING), matching these three kinds of approach.

Some designers use data as a meaningful creation material, an invisible engine generating forms and other take data seriously as the first source of renewed knowledge about the world and finally some experiment the functional potentials of new tools, track the world’s cultural variants within the open data.

In other words, an original exhibition to visit for free from May 4 to October 6, 2018 at the EDF Foundation.
