An artistic vision of architecture... This is what Drawing Lab Paris, a gallery located in the capital's 1st arrondissement, is offering with The Projective Drawing exhibition, which runs from June 28 to September 20, 2019. The retrospective is inspired by the book The Projective Cast, published in 1995, in which architectural historian Robin Evans proposes"a new explanation of how we 'see' architecture by including all the different facets - mental, physical and emotional - that make up the human experience of the built environment".
An exhibition that proposes to apply Robin Evans' theories by taking"a skeptical look at drawing as a means of understanding the foundations of architecture, to challenge our understanding of how drawing technique works in contemporary culture".
On the artist side, we find Lionel Favre, Keita Mori and Judith Saupper for in situ installations"that redefine the art of drawing", as well as William Cordova, Leopold Strobl, Naomi B. Cook, Kunihiko Moriguchi, Raha Raissnia, Brigitte Mahlknecht and shaman Sara Flores, from the Shipibo Conibo tribe in Peru, for a piece created using plant extracts. In short, an opportunity to immerse yourself in architecture in a new and original way. Shall we go?
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
