The Rendez-vous aux Jardins is back, an event that's all about nature! The château d'Auvers-sur-Oise, an Impressionist paradise, invites you to enjoy some superb entertainment on June 1 and 2, 2024, in its nine-hectare park.
June sees the return of Rendez-vous aux Jardins! The first weekend of the month, which we hope will be sunny, opens the doors to the most beautiful parks and gardens in the Île-de-France region, for exceptional visits and events, accessible to all to enjoy nature.
And what better way to discover a place that has inspired so many artists than in the town ofAuvers-sur-Oise, a veritable haven for Impressionist painters such as Corot, Daumier, Pissarro, Cézanne and Vincent Van Gogh. The Château d'Auvers-sur-Oise welcomes you to its luxuriant gardens, with a superb nine-hectare park, fountains, decorated and sculpted parterres and shady walkways.
The gardens are divided into three sections, laid out in three different styles: those of the Italian Renaissance, with high and low terraces, planting carefully arranged to create screens or plant windows that punctuate the stroll, notably the Nymphée shell fountain. The French-style gardens are much more symmetrical, with paths lined with boxwood, parterres and bosquets.

Finally, English gardens add a touch of madness, to break up all that tidy nature. Here, flowers, trees and bushes are free to grow wherever they please, creating a feeling of a natural, untouched garden. A very pleasant walk, with irises, roses and clematis, landscapes that undoubtedly inspired the painters of the time.

The Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024 program

  • Theater: Madame Van Gogh by Cliff Paille
    Saturday, June 1, 6:30 p.m.

    Saturday June 1, 2024

    Play
Madame Van Gogh by Cliff PAILLE at 6:30pm
    Salle événementielle du Château d'Auvers

    By Compagnie, Hé! Psst!

1891, Vincent Van Gogh has been dead for a few months, and his brother Theo has quickly followed him into the grave. One painted, the other financed. What remains are hundreds of worthless paintings, and an abundance of epistolary correspondence between the two brothers.

Based on real historical events, the play tells five stories. The first is that of Johanna Van Gogh, Theo's widow, who gradually discovers the power of her brother-in-law Vincent's work, and the second that of a friend, Emile Bernard, eager to save Van Gogh from oblivion.

The play presents a meeting between these two brilliant minds. An erudite, mischievous, subtle and passionate conversation. Above all, it's about a work of art and, above all, about its author: who was Vincent Van Gogh, the man?
