The opening ofAvengers Campus at Disneyland Paris was one of the highlights of 2022 and the park's 30th anniversary. A new zone offering two attractions, one of which is particularly appealing to families: Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure. How does it work? As part of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB), you must help Spider-Man neutralize one of his creations, Spider-bots with the ability to replicate themselves ad infinitum.
In this attraction, you get into a vehicle and, wearing 3D glasses, you have to shoot webs with your hands - like Spider-Man - to defeat the Spider-bots on every screen you come across. Eliminations, like a giant video game, award you points, allowing you to measure yourself against the other passengers in the vehicle, but also your whole vehicle against the others on the course.
So it's vital to get the best possible score and stay at the top of the leaderboard, which you can see as you leave the attraction. But how do you get a good score? Is it possible to "cheat" your way to a higher score? What are the tricks to get the best possible score? We'll show you how!
But first of all, please note that our article is based on the tips detailed by YouTuber Provost Park Pass, which he explains in a video. These tips are based on his experience of the Californian park's attraction. As the latter is an exact replica (almost) of the Parisian version, the tricks suggested must logically work within the Walt Disney Studios attraction. For more details, we invite you to watch his video at the end of this article.
You know the principle: you have to eliminate as many Spider-bots as possible! But not all of them earn you the same number of points... In total, as YouTuber Provost Park Pass explains, there are five types of Spider-bots, of different colors: the blue and red ones (colors of the basic spiderbot, like those on sale in the store as you leave the attraction) earn you 300 points, the green ones earn you 900 points, the red ones 1500 points, the blue ones 3000 points and the gold ones 6000 points. We therefore advise you to target the reds, blues and golds directly for maximum points.
But don't think that aiming for and eliminating the right Spider-bots will grant you victory so easily... And for good reason: it's not just the points you earn that count, since the way you defeat certain Spider-bots will help you earn maximum points more quickly. Let's put it this way: on some screens, you'll find a variety of objects that will allow you to eliminate several Spider-bots at once. These include explosive barrels (which we tried out ourselves), as well as laser cannons (also tried out in our test).
In detail, in the first scene you can aim at the explosive barrels on the right of the screen to make them explode and generate points. There's also an arcade machine with a gold screen near the barrels, which you can shoot to earn points too (anything gold earns you points). In the second scene, in the basement of Pym Kitchen, aiming at the big golden switches to make certain objects in the room bigger or smaller will earn you points. And don't forget the big Spider-bots, for extra points.
In the third scene, set in the Collector's Room, destroy the glass cages containing the various artifacts by aiming for the (golden) light bar at the top of the cages. Similarly, when you need to free Spider-Man from his own cage, aim for the golden bars on the four large branches to free him more quickly and score a few points.
Finally, in the last scene, aim the laser cannons to take out lots of Spider-bots (tried and tested). When confronting the giant Spider-bots, eliminate them as quickly as possible to earn a medal (bronze, silver or gold). The faster you take him down, the more points you'll earn.
You don't want to be your own man, but prefer to score as a team? To score as many points as possible, the trick is to divide the different screens into four, with each player taking charge of the area in front of him or her. It may sound silly when you put it like that, but it's really quite effective when the work is well coordinated. Then it's off to the top group score!
Note also that you can "cheat" a little to get a better score in the attraction, by taking a trip to the store on leaving the attraction. For a fee, you can obtain a Power Band, which modifies the style of your canvas. As already explained in our article on the attraction, the Iron Man Power Band lets you send repulsor beams instead of webs, another Spider-Man Power Band lets you send electric webs, and another Doctor Strange Power Band lets you generate mystical tethers instead of webs.
So, you might ask, how can you cheat with Power Bands, since all they do is change the style of canvas you throw? In theory, you might be right, except that there's a final Power Band - the basic one, in fact - that lets you throw not one, but three webs in one go... And therefore enabling you to hit three times as many enemies in one go (if you know how to aim properly).
