For the past five years, the Palais de la Découverte has been undergoing a major renovation. This Parisian science museum is located in the west wing of the Grand Palais. The monument has benefited from a major refurbishment project, and is gradually reopening its various spaces. After the grand reopening of the Grand Palais during the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Palais de la Découverte now takes center stage.
The museum has finally completed its transformation, and is preparing to welcome back its public. However, lovers of Palais de la Découverte will have to be patient: the museum is reopening, but only in part.
The official date for the museum's reopening is June 11, 2025: all summer long, the Palais welcomes visitors with a multidisciplinary festival, exhibitions, workshops... The museum will then close its doors again for a few months, in order to complete the work and interior fitting out of the permanent spaces, before reopening definitively at the end of 2026.
So what can we see and do at the museum in the near future? When can we expect to see this key museum of the 8th arrondissement and of Paris back for good? Here's a detailed timetable.
