Being at Disneyland Paris and making the most of your day - or weekend - is often an obstacle course... Buying tickets, waiting times at attractions, eating out, rules to be observed at attractions... there are so many little details to think about during your stay in the parks.
And for those who want to make the most of their day, or at least make the most of it (a ticket isn't cheap either), the editors have put together a few tips to help you make the most of your day or your stay, and make this day or this weekend a moment full of magic.
Let's start with tickets. You can book your ticket on the park's website or on the official smartphone app. As the parks have kept visitor quotas, you are also guaranteed access to the parks.
Note that you can also try to buy your tickets on reseller sites, at the same prices, but these are not dated (a range of dates is proposed). You'll need to go to the Disneyland Paris website and register your tickets for the date you want, subject to availability. You'll pay the same price, and you're guaranteed access to the parks on the date you choose.
Once on site, there are several options: if you've budgeted for it, you can buy"Premier Access" tickets either on theDisneyland Paris app or at City Hall on Main Street. These take the place of Fast Past tickets, allowing you to queue less by using a different access route to the attractions. Don't delay too long in the day either, as the number of Premier Accesses is limited. The later in the day you arrive, the more likely it is that the attraction you want to see will be sold out.
Please note that not all attractions are included, and prices vary from one attraction to another. Here's the list of attractions covered by Premier Access One tickets, and their prices:
Disneyland Park:
Walt Disney Studios Park:
Alternatively, you can opt for Premier Access Ultimate. What does it involve? This ticket gives you access to all the attractions listed above once a day. If you opt for this ticket, be sure to budget for it, as it's particularly expensive (from 90 euros per person per day).
Another, less costly solution is to regularly check the waiting times for attractions on the Disneyland Paris app, and depending on where you are, head for the attraction with the shortest waiting time closest to you. This saves you a fair amount of time, allowing you to take in one or two more attractions during the day. Please note that waiting times are often overestimated by several minutes.
No matter how many times the castmembers repeat it, the rules aren't always understood (especially if you're one of the visitors who speaks neither French nor English - if you're reading this from abroad - and one thing's for sure, we've seen it in the attractions). As a reminder, in most attractions (all those with a safety bar or harness), you must remove your bag from your back or shoulders (even for small bags, yes, yes...) and place them on the floor, in your car. On roller coasters, even though centrifugal force means your belongings won't be in any danger, we advise you to slide the strap of your bag up your leg. Please note that castmembers are not allowed to keep your bags, even if you have a problem with them (broken zipper, etc.).
Photos and videos inside the attraction are strictly forbidden, so put away your GoPro and smartphone. And in some attractions, those with a seatbelt like in your car (in Star Tours and the Tower of Terror, to be more precise), castmembers will ask you, once strapped in, to pull a yellow tab, located on your seatbelt, towards the buckle. Pull on it as soon as the castmember asks you to (they proceed in rows). This will avoid having to repeat several times and delay the start of the ride. Always listen to the castmemebers: they're there to make sure you're safe (and they're always right on the ride about the rules to follow).
Want to have lunch in one of the resort's restaurants? Don't forget to reserve a table to avoid queuing at the entrance. You can reserve your table on theDisneyland Paris app, with time slots, at the park's call center(+33 (0)1 60 30 40 50), at your hotel concierge (if you're staying in a Disney hotel) or at City Hall, on Main Street.
As for restaurants, if you're looking for something cheap, we recommend Casey's Corner (Main Street, between 2 and 11 euros), Café Hypérion (Discoveryland, between 15 and 20 euros for the menu, 6.80 for the snack break menu), En Coulisse restaurant (Walt Disney Studios Park, Studio 1, between 14 and 19 euros per menu,(ATTENTION closed for renovation)), Hakuna Matata restaurant (Adventureland, between 9 and 16 euros per menu) or Last Chance Café (Frontierland, between 3.80 and 9 euros).
Want to enjoy the shows and parades and are looking for a good seat? Go to the Disneyland Paris app to find out all the timetables. Alternatively, you can always go to City Hall to ask for them (in Disneyland Park, at the Main Street entrance, on your left as you arrive).
For the night show, we advise you to arrive at least 45 minutes beforehand to ensure you get a good seat. You can also reserve a dedicated spot on the Disneyland Paris app. For parades, arriving 10 to 15 minutes beforehand is sufficient. For indoor shows, note that some offer special tickets guaranteeing you a place. Examples include The Lion King and the Rhythms of the Earth, in Frontierland, and Mickey and the Magician, in Animagic Theatre, at Walt Disney Studios. Hard ticket cost: 15 euros per person.
Note also that during the parades and outdoor shows, the attractions are partly empty, as most visitors go to see the shows, especially the parade. This is the ideal time to take in your favorite attractions without having to queue too long. Note also that it's best not to be in Discoveryland at parade time, as the parade route will block your access to the rest of the park... Unless you want to enjoy the attractions in the area.
Staying at one of the resort's hotels? Take advantage of the "Magic Plus" hours and access the parks before the official opening time. You can either ride attractions that are already open, or queue up for busy morning attractions and avoid the queue by arriving later.
With all these tips, you should be able to face your day on the spot. Now all you have to do is book your tickets!
