Now that's a tribute! As part of the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, which has been closed since 2019 due to a fire and has been undergoing work ever since, Disneyland Paris is inviting lovers of heritage and the capital to discover Disney ❤ Notre-Dame de Paris, an all-new, ephemeral nighttime show on the façade of Sleeping Beauty's castle from December 5 to 14, 2024.
A show inspired, of course, by Victor Hugo 's work The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (which takes place in the heart of the cathedral, but you already know that). The program includes mapping, of course, but also fireworks and a drone show reproducing the cathedral, the bells of Notre-Dame, the famous gargoyles and the famous rose window. Join Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Frollo, Clopin or Phœbus in a show as original as it is ephemeral, and celebrate one of Paris's most emblematic monuments before taking a trip there yourself!
Our Disney review ❤ Notre-Dame de Paris:
A show we were able to see during a visit organized by the park, as part of the dress rehearsals. The show, which lasts eight minutes, is very complete, very dynamic and dense without giving away too much info or being too heavy-handed. To kick off the festivities, introductions are a must, and the show offers younger viewers who haven't seen the cartoon a framework introducing the characters and the story, before proposing a mashup. This is a really good idea, as it immediately hooks viewers in by setting the scene for the story.
The drone show is as impressive as ever. You don't know what to expect, and you're always surprised by what's on offer, even mesmerized, the whole thing blending in well with the music, mapping, fireworks, water jets and light effects. It's as visually stunning as ever, and that's what makes it such an undeniable success.
We also appreciate the mix of languages, allowing English speakers to fully understand what all the fuss is about. It's well thought-out and well done. A show of surgical precision in what it tells, through the various techniques used, all synchronized to perfection. All in all, a fine tribute to this jewel of French heritage, so beloved even by Disney. So if you're in the park during this period, we'd love to see it... In any case, we weren't disappointed!
A show held in addition to the Disney Electrical Sky Parade and Disney Illuminations. And if not, we're enjoying the last few days of night shows before the arrival of the new 2025 Disneyland Paris, as well as the Christmas season, which again and again plunges you into the heart of holiday magic! And if not, you can read our interview with the director here :
