To celebrate their 50th anniversary in Paris, Les Folies Gruss are offering an exceptional immersion experience. On the program: a musical, equestrian and aerial show, carefully concocted by the Compagnie Alexis Gruss. Three highlights punctuate the experience: a gastronomic pre-show, the main show and an after-show to prolong the magic.
Celebrating half a century of artistic excellence, the Compagnie Alexis Gruss invites us to take a retrospective look at its imprint on the world of equestrian shows, while unveiling its new creation for this special year.
From their humble beginnings in 1974 with a big top in the courtyard of the Hôtel Salé, to the lawn of Saint-Cloud following the storm of 1999, the Folies Gruss have had 17 different locations. Yet one thing has remained constant: their unfailing link with Paris. These 50 years in Paris symbolize not only a rich past, but also an ever-evolving history.
Over these five decades, three generations have been committed to preserving and developing equestrian heritage and the art of the ring. With a cavalry of 50 horses and an effervescence of 50 original creations, the Folies Gruss have always been at the forefront of innovation. The result is Folies Gruss in 2019, offering much more than just a show, but total immersion with the artists.
To mark this anniversary, an exceptional show has been designed with meticulous attention to every tableau and every transition. Stephan Gruss is the artistic director of this marvel, assisted by Grégory Antoine in scenography. The music, the central element, was composed by Grégory Garell, with lighting by Bruno Fatalot and his MBV studios. The show tells the story of Louise, a young aspiring singer, who, with the help of Piotr, a loyal technician, discovers the equestrian talents of this extraordinary family. What challenges and secrets await Louise under the big top?
When Firmin, Stephan and Maud took over the reins in 2019, they breathed new life into the venue, inspired by the Années Folles. Live music, home-cooked food and a family welcome create an unforgettable atmosphere for spectators, through pre-show, show and aftershow.

Awarded the Cirque National label between 1983 and 1987, it continues to innovate around its equestrian art. Today, the fifth Gruss generation, represented by Stephan, Firmin and Maud, continues to hold high the values and traditions, while preparing the sixth generation for the future.
