Companies, schools, structures... the world of the performing arts is bending over backwards to welcome you with shows, demonstrations, workshops and other family (or not) activities.
From intrepid acrobats to hilarious clowns and virtuoso jugglers, each act transports you to an extraordinary universe where the impossible becomes reality. La Nuit du Cirque is a celebration of circus art that promises an unforgettable experience under the big top, for young and old alike. Find the full program online!
Ten male and female jugglers from the Collectif Petit Travers reveal their singular practices and backgrounds in a choral piece set to music by the Quatuor Debussy. A collective self-portrait that resembles a perfectly-tuned ballet.
In an atmosphere of sulfur and sweat, nightclub hammam, vapors and black smoke, tongues are loosened, speakeasy, bodies liquefy, dirty and saturated techno, a disco ball in the belly, catch your breath, vice is at your doorstep. Power, lust, money, the poisons of a damned age. Violence, fire, boiling metal, venom from the bowels of a rotten, dying society, overdone Marvel characters. Stand-up dancing, kneeling screams, dog barking, tap dancing on cans, atomic central podium, electro-vice, tacatacatacatac, politics gone haywire, poetic declamations. A vulgar circus and a poor man's cabaret: the ball of the lost. Cursed, deviant, monsters and spangles, messy party, voodoo mass, no mass, just wine, games, I'm sensual, torrida, an electric ladyland, insolent electric freedom. See you later.
A stage that symbolizes a cramped interior: a few boards, a table, a few stools. Balls, juggling objects, playmates and imaginary characters, populate every nook and cranny of the furniture... A lonely man, a bit of a ham, gets his feet caught in the folds of life, falls and gets up again...falls and gets up again. Little by little, he opens up the drawers of his inner world to let us hear the noise inside. Behind this juggling and burlesque show, funny and touching, highly technical, lies a loneliness that will reveal itself as the challenges and feats are met. Playing to survive, inventing an elsewhere.
Followed by the film Le Cirque de Charlie Chaplin
Professors and advanced students will present solo, duo and group acts (aerial, juggling, acrobatics, lifts...) specially created for the occasion! Professionals and amateurs alike will create a moment of sharing and presentation of their artistic universe.
CircoRadio to Eat is a series of short radio programs written for France Culture by Maroussia Diaz Verbèke and Élodie Royer. With three guests, thinker Pacôme Thiellement, historian Caroline Hodak and horsewoman Valérie Fratellini, they develop a humorous and whimsical sound experience, at the crossroads of the imaginary and the erudite. They invite us to join them in listening to these sound creations, during a staged listening session and brunch at Restaurant Les Machines!
Circus Remix is the show that put Le Troisième Cirque on the map. In a succession of original, striking and surprising acts, Maroussia Diaz Verbèke created a spectacular and timeless circus. Anyone who's seen the show will still remember it! At the same time, an incredible soundtrack of radio archives gave voice to a host of personalities, from Pierre Desproges to Françoise Héritier and Virginie Despentes. Exclusively for L'Azimut, Maroussia Diaz Verbèke invites two (almost) identical performers to slip into her costume and create Circus Remake, a two-person version of this formidable score. A unique opportunity to discover the writing of an artist who plays with codes and categories!
