After the passage of storm Caetano, which brought some beautiful flakes to the Paris region last November, the question arises: will the snow make a comeback in the Paris region over the next few days? All the more so as the cold and winter are well and truly upon us.
La Chaîne Météo thus announces the arrival of a new deterioration for the beginning of 2025. "This change in weather will be most noticeable on January 1, with the arrival of a disturbance moving down from the British Isles, causing a gale in northern France ", warns the specialist site. The cold will also be with us. " It will be relatively cold, in keeping with the season, but noticeable because of the wind (felt) and cold enough to allow the snow to fall at lower altitudes again (600 to 800 m), without having to go through the "rainy thaw" stage," explains La Chaîne Météo, which points out, however, that " precipitation will not be as abundant as during the pre-Christmas snowstorm ". " But the weather will still be more unsettled and wintry at the beginning of January ".
For its part, Météo France is also predicting the possible return of snow to the Île-de-France region at the end of the week. In detail, a few flakes could fall as early as the morning of Friday January 3, 2025 , notably in the Yvelines near Versailles and Rambouillet. In Seine-et-Marne, snow could also make a comeback on Friday morning, around Tournan-en-Brie. What about the rest of the Ile-de-France region? Temperatures will not be low enough to see the appearance of small flakes. Rain is likely to prevail.
On Friday afternoon, a few snow showers are expected near Rambouillet in the Yvelines department, as well as around Fontainebleau, Nangis, Provins and Tournan-en-Brie in the Seine-et-Marne department.
For Saturday , January 4, 2025, Météo France is forecasting drier, less agitated weather. However, snow could return from the west of the Île-de-France region on Saturday night. On Sunday January 5, 2025, flakes could fall in the morning in north-western Val-d'Oise, eastern and southern Yvelines and Seine-et-Marne. The snow should give way to rain during the day, as temperatures rise.
What about the weather in Paris? Is snow expected this weekend? For the time being, the capital should be spared a few flakes, as the mercury is slightly higher than in the other departments of the Paris region.
We remind you that these are only forecasts for the moment. To know whether snow will indeed make a comeback in several departments of the Île-de-France region at the end of the week, we'll have to keep a close eye on the evolution of weather models over the coming days.
