Get ready to thrill! This September 8 and 9, 2018, theFrance Flying Warbirds association is organizing its Paris Air Legend with theAssociation Un Dakota sur la Normandie and theAssociation des Mécaniciens Pilotes d'Aéronefs Anciens at the Melun-Villaroche airfield.
This airfield is used all year round. Among the preserved aircraft are DC 3, Hurel-Dubois HD-34, Junker 52, Mystère IV, Lysander, Skyraider, Tiger Moth, Nord 1101, T-6, Broussard Hydravion Latécoère 28, Stormovick, Didier Chable and a number of former pilots and mechanics from the Centre d'Essais en Vol.
Together, they brought together 60 aircraft, including 45 warbirds, mythical aircraft, some of which had rarely or never been to France. Boeing Stearman, Consolidated PBY Catalina (yes, the famous flying boat), Alpha Jet PAF, Douglas DC-3,Dassault MD312 Flamant and theRafale Marine will be on hand all weekend, with aerial demonstrations.
Fans of warplanes will be in for a real treat, as the F86/E SABRE, an icon of the Korean War never shown at any airshow in Europe, will be present, as will the famous Patrouille de France, on display on Saturday and with a flypast on Sunday!
On the ground, there's plenty of entertainment for young and old alike: a group of singers (the "Satin Doll Sisters"), food stalls, bookshops and boutiques, re-enactments of military bivouacs, vintage vehicles and more.
And for those who think an Air Show is just a feast for the eyes, helicopter charters, simulators and Ducati and Can Am motorcycle trials will put everyone right about the usefulness of a major airshow just outside Paris!
