Did you know? The town of La Courneuve, in the Seine-Saint-Denis département, is particularly steeped in the cultures of various countries on the Indian subcontinent: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh... So, come on board for a real voyage proposed by guide Raphaëlle Gras, to discover this unique heritage during a cultural and gourmet tour.
In Paris, we already know the Indian quarter and its unmissable Ganesh festival, but now La Courneuve is one of the places where cultures mingle, in the area around Place du 8 mai 1945. From the Shiva temple to the grocery stores where you'll find the ingredients you need for Indian cuisine, not to mention the shops, boutiques and gastronomy straight from South Asia, immerse yourself in this little-known culture. As a bonus, a tasting session awaits you in a Sri Lankan restaurant at the end of the tour.
Price: €15 per adult, children under 14 are free. In fact, the tour is recommended for families, from around 8 years of age (duration 2h30). Let's go on a one-way trip to Sri Lanka, to discover languages, religions and cuisines from other parts of the world, with your Navigo passport as your only passport!
