To round off the Fête nationale 2024 in style, the Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise and the Choeur de Radio France are organizing a grand symphony concert this Sunday, July 14. This year, because of the Olympic Games in Paris, the free concert has moved from the Champ-de-Mars, opposite the Eiffel Tower, to the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville. Still others are looking forward to the evenings organized on July 13 and 14, 2023, when they'll be dancing the night away, particularly at the bals des pompiers and other bals populaires. On Thursday July 13, 2023, theInstitut des Cultures d'Islam will be hosting a pop ball.
And to liven up the evening, the cultural venue nestled in the 18th arrondissement of Paris is inviting songwriter, guitarist, percussionist (bongos, calabash) and singer Ameth Sissokho to a free concert.
For the occasion, Ameth Sissokho will perform with the Sora Yaa Band. Created in 2013 in the vibrant Goutte d'Or district, the Sora Yaa Band mixes languages and styles to bring an energetic groove to life. This explosive group gets the crowds dancing, all driven by the sublime voice ofAmeth Sissokho.
ICI, the Institut des Cultures d'Islam, showcases the diversity and dynamism of Islamic cultures in contemporary French and international art, hosting two or three exhibitions a year and offering an eclectic program of concerts, dance, performances, meetings, conferences, screenings and more.
