On Saturday July 13, as night falls, the façade of the Château will be exceptionally illuminated in the colors of France. A firework display will set the sky ablaze in shades of blue, white and red, in tribute to the French flag.
In addition to the traditional candlelight highlighting the perspective of the French garden, more than 2,000 glittering sticks will be offered to illuminate the garden before the fireworks that will bring the evening to a close. It's sure to make the moment even more magical, and give you an unforgettable souvenir of your special day.
As a reminder, the Soirées aux Chandelles at Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte are a summertime tradition, where visitors discover the estate by the light of thousands of candles. Every Saturday evening, from April to October, the château and its gardens are decked out in light, creating a magical atmosphere. This unique experience immerses you in the atmosphere of the 17th century, as you stroll through illuminated alleys and enjoy an exceptional view of the formal gardens.
The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, a masterpiece of French classical architecture, was built in the 17th century by Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV's superintendent of finances. It inspired the construction of the Palace of Versailles, thanks to the collaboration of three geniuses: architect Louis Le Vau, painter Charles Le Brun and gardener André Le Nôtre. Its history is marked by grandeur and decline, reflecting the spectacular fall of its owner.
