An exceptional fireworks display was unveiled on Sunday, July 14, 2024. A show on the theme of Liberty to mark the Paris Olympic Games, combining pyrotechnic effects and drones.

In France, Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14th. This date commemorates the storming of the Bastille, a key event in the history of the French Revolution. Traditionally, July 14th is marked by a military parade, which this year, due to the Olympic Games, has moved to the Avenue Foch.

Fireworks are set off all over the country, including in the Île-de-France region. In Paris, the fireworks display is fired from the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero Gardens on the evening of July 14th (rather than on the evening of July 13th as in other cities), creating an iconic show.

The previous edition of the July 14th fireworks display in Paris captivated spectators with its "Carpe Diem" theme. This year, we were treated to a unique show revolving around Paris and its values, with, for the first time ever, over 1,000 drones in a fantastic display. A series of rhythmic and breathtaking tableaux paid tribute to the capital and the main Olympic and Paralympic disciplines.

The fireworks display by the City of Paris marked the grand finale of the festive day celebrating the arrival of the Olympic flame in the capital. Find out more about the route and all the entertainment at , which continues on Monday July 15 and on the day of the opening ceremony on July 26.

The show started late, well after 11pm. What followed was an explosion of color and light, thanks to close collaboration between pyrotechnics and lighting techniques. This year's show was unprecedented in both visual and aural terms, with technical innovations and an immersive soundtrack. Relive the show in photos.

The big concert moved to the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville

For once, Paris's grand lyric concert was not held on the Champs de Mars this year, but on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville, due to the installations for the Olympic Games. The Orchestre National de France, the Maîtrise and the Choeur de Radio France awaited us on Sunday July 14 for a grand symphonic concert. This year's performers included Lang Lang, Nadine Sierra, Khatia Buniatishvili, as well as Thibault Cauvin and Matthieu Chedid, aka -M-.

In short, it was an exceptional show that rounded off a most festive day, with a host of torch-lit events, all of which await you on Monday 15th and next Friday for the grand opening ceremony.
