Calling all egg hunters: the traditional Secours Populaire Easter egg hunt is back in Paris, but with a change of venue. On Sunday April 20, 2025, it won't be on the Champs de Mars or in the Parc André Citroën but in the heart of the Parc des Buttes Chaumont in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.
As in previous years, children will have to buy a hunting permit for €8 online and €10 on site, this year (inflation obliges) to set off in search of the eggs. Then the search begins: the little ones will have to scour the local groves for the famous eggs. We recommend reserving your hunting passport in advance to avoid queuing on the day. This little precaution facilitates access and allows you to take full advantage of the many activities on offer.
From 9:30 a.m., children of all ages are invited to take part in an egg hunt organized by age group - 2 to 4, 5 to 7, and 8 and over. These specially-designed routes allow everyone to participate at their own pace, in the lush, undulating setting of the Buttes-Chaumont, the 19th arrondissement's green lung. Once the eggs have been collected, each little hunter receives a chocolate snack to round off the mission on a sweet note.
In addition to the hunting, a Secours Populaire village is set up in the heart of the park, offering a range of activities for the whole family:
Some activities are offered in exchange for a fee, but they all have one thing in common: they support a just cause: solidarity, here and elsewhere.
There will also be a refreshment bar for a tasty break between activities. All proceeds are donated to local and international solidarity initiatives run by Secours Populaire. Over 200 volunteers will be on hand on the day to supervise the activities and bring this Easter festival to life, with some 3,000 children expected to attend. An unmissable family outing in Paris awaits families during the spring vacations.
To get to the Buttes-Chaumont park, there are several options for public transport: metro line 5 takes you to Laumière station, to the north of the park, while line 7 bis takes you south to Botzaris station. For buses, you can take lines 48, 60 or 75 to the Armand Carrel - Mairie du 19e stop, or lines 26 and 71 to the Buttes-Chaumont stop.
Rendezvous this Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. To save time, get your hunting tickets with a time slot, and head off to enjoy the entertainment.
