The town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois innovates for the Fête nationale 2024!"Last year, neither the Municipality nor the people of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois could hide their disappointment when they learned that the traditional fireworks display would not be able to take place to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14. Indeed, the prefectoral decree "relating to the protection against fire of areas located within 200m of woods and forests" has deprived many communes of these festivities. In view of the risks posed by climate change, this is unfortunately a situation that could recur. That's why the municipality has decided to anticipate any setbacks and offer the people of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois , young and old, a brand new, more sustainable format, with no nasty surprises", explains the town on its website.
On Saturday, July 13, 2024 , from 6pm to 11:30pm, the town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois will be hosting a festive and convivial evening on theesplanade du Donjon. On the program? Free entertainment, a republican banquet, a guinguette and a light show to round off the evening.
And why not take the opportunity to visit the commune of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois beforehand? You'll discover historic sites with a rural touch, such as the church and the Donjon, a tower listed as a historic monument since 1923, but that's not all. You can also delve into the heart of local legend by venturing to the Grotte, where you'll catch a glimpse of the famous spring that is the source of the town's history.
For a walk as bucolic as ever, take a stroll around the Hôtel de Ville, stroll through the large Greenhouse located a stone's throw from the Donjon... in short, a day well spent. And don't forget to head over to the Donjon esplanade at 6pm to enjoy this unique evening offered as part of the Fête nationale 2024 !
