While the French are preparing the summer vacations, unless they already are enjoying it, French Health Minister Olivier Véran warned against the risk of the spread of the Delta variant, speaking of likely "over 20,000 cases per day in early August". A warning he already sent his past July 2, addressing the vaccination campaign saying the risk of a fourth wave of contaminations is likely to break out this summer because of the Delta variant.

"Today, there is no epidemice resurgence, but the Delta variant starts to rise" in France. And it "might ruin vacations". Here is the warning sent by the French Health MinisterOlivier Véran, this Friday July 2, 2021. Visiting Villeneuve-la-Garenne vaccination center in Hauts-de-Seine, the Minister addressed the threat of the Delta variant, extremely contagious and that keeps on infecting people across Europe.

Furthermore, Covid-19 Delta variant threatens to cause an "epidemic resurgence this summer", Véran warns. Discovered in India, this new strain of coronavirus now represents a third of new positive cases diagnosed in France. In Russia, the situation is getting worse with contamination records in 24h broken every day.

Therefore, the Health Minister calls the French to get vaccinated. "We must pursue and improve this vaccination campaign", the government member repeats over and over again, reminding on the same occasion "1.5 million doses" are "available" in France at this very time. "The campaign goes on, we can do more, we must do more", the Minister considers.

This Sunday July 11, the minister sends a clear message: "The epidemic is resurging this summer. It is surging again in young people. It will be like this past summer: young people will contaminate older people and you will see an increase in the hospital pressure", Olivier Véran explains on Radio J. He goes on: "There are about 3,000 new cases diagnosed every day. But with the Delta variant, there could be over 20,000 cases per day in early August".

He once again insists on the vaccination: "Without vaccination, the wave could be much bigger than the previous ones. Those who are waiting should not be waiting. There are young people suffering from long-term Covid. You can get sexual disorders". He concludes: "vaccination reduces the health impact, but if the wave is very big, there will be a health impact. If we were vaccinated, we would not be talking about it. We would focus on the economic recovery".
