The 4th wave “might have started”, Gabriel Attal claims

The 4th wave “is no longer a risk but a reality”, according to Gabriel Attal. The government spokesman spoke this July 13, 2021, following the ministerial council to address the French President’s address. And when it comes to the vaccine strategy instated, the spokesman clearly stated it was the very key for the economic recovery, adding “tests cannot be alternative vaccines”.

In front of the camera, Gabriel Attal has had to specify or at least reaffirm the position held by the French President during last night’s address. The government spokesman spoke – as usual, after the Wednesday morning ministerial councils – and gave further data as for the situation in France and the government’s strategy.

He announced the “fourth wave might has started” with an incidence rate increasing by 60% in France in one week especially because of the Delta variant. The alert threshold has been reached and overtaken in Occitania with 51 Covid-19 cases for 100,000 inhabitants, when Pyrénées-Orientales are close to 129.9 cases for 100,000 inhabitants.

Although the health pass is the solution found by the government to curb the epidemic, according to the government spokesperson, “it is out of the question to impose an infernal summer” to people under 18 years of age. As a matter of fact, “a low number” of people has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 because of the calendar and the government wishes to be soft on the matter. Their motto? “Is not vaccinal obligation but maximum incitation”. This soft behavior on vaccination will also apply to employees in places open to the public and for the French from abroad who have been vaccinated with a vaccine not approved by the European authorities.

This behavior is to end on September 15. From this date forth, the Health Minister says non-vaccinated professionals involved “will no longer be allowed to work and will not be paid”.
