The coronavirus epidemic is resurging in France, and to stop the threat of a fourth wave cause by the spread of the Delta variant, the government has decided to instate dramatic measures to encourage vaccination. It now becomes compulsory for some professions, while the health pass is extended to many public places, starting this summer on.

An Elabe survey for BFMTV released this Tuesday July 13 delivers first elements. This survey says people are overall for the measures announced by French President Emmanuel Macron, two days before Bastille Day. In the detail, 58% of them approve the extension of the Health Pass to cafés and restaurants, 66% are for the pass in places of leisure and culture gathering over 50 people, and 76% in planes, trains, and coaches for long-haul. 70% of the surveyed also support the implementation of the health pass in hospitals, retirement houses, and medico-welfare establishments. The 25-34-year-old group is the most reluctant to these new measures.
As for the other statements, compulsory vaccination for some professions is approved by 76% of the surveyed, while the ending of reimbursement of PCR tests is by 63% of people interviewed. 87% of them are for more border controls and health measures at the borders. Altogether, the announcements made by the French President are approved by 54% of people surveyed. 31% think these measures are too strict, while 15% consider these measures are not enough.
Survey carried out in a sample of 1,006 people representing the French population aged 18+. The representativity of the sample is guaranteed by the method of quotas used with the following variables: gender, age, and profession of the surveyed after regional stratification and agglomeration category.
