As the coronavirus epidemic is surging again in France, the government has decided to extend the health pass to other places open to the public. This extension is to process progressively in three steps. Here is what has changed since July 21, 2021.

As the Delta variant causes an increase in contaminations, France is preparing to face the fourth epidemic wave. To encourage vaccination and limit coronavirus spread risks, the government has decided to hit hard. On Monday July 12, 2021, two days before Bastille Day, President Emmanuel Macron has addressed the French to share strong measures.

One of the main measures in this address is the extension of the health pass applying to always more places open to the public. This measure is progressively instated over two steps. The first step started since Wednesday July 21, 2021. Here is what has changed since then.

Now, the gauge from which the health pass becomes compulsory dramatically decreases, moving from 1,000 to 50 people. It applies to many places of leisure and culture such as show venues, theaters, movie theaters, theme parks, concerts, festivals, museums, and monuments.
