The use of the health pass is to be soon extended to foreign tourists in France: State Secretary for Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne would like to instate a special pass from August 9.

While the French are waiting to discover the definitive content of the law extending the health pass, the government is preparing measures for travelers soon to return in France. This Thursday August 5, 2021, invited on France Inter, State Secretary for Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne has announced non-EU foreign tourists will soon need a special health pass.

Our goal is that from August 9, these tourists found on domestic soil can get passes based on the same model as the French set outside France. We will instate an evolutive system that will increase to face needs”, the State Secretary stated.

The government is currently working on the issue of foreign tourists and expats. In this same interview, Lemoyne also confirmed international students will be welcomed in French universities when school starts. “We are to announce in the coming days the useful modalities enabling them to come”, he promises.

The executive is also working on instating a special health pass for French expats living outside the European Union and who have been vaccinated in the countries they live in. Those who have been given “vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency”, are soon to get their own pass.
