Is the health pass back? It seems it will be soon required again at borders to enter France, Corsica and overseas territories, according to a draft bill instated by the French government. This bill aims at maintaining a “monitoring and health security system” until March 2023, as the health emergency is to come to an end on July 31, 2022.
As a matter of fact, if the draft bill is approved, you will have to show a health pass from 12 years of age to be able to “go to a destination or when coming from France, Corsica or one of the overseas territories”. The pass consists in a negative test, proof of vaccination or recovery certificate and is to apply to “people intervening in the concerned transport services” too.
The draft bill does not seem to require extension of the health emergency beyond July 31, nor the necessity of a health pass to access some places or gatherings, a measure said to be freedom-destroying. Yet, the government would like to extend the SI-DEP data files until March 31, 2023, as they include results of tests and Covid contact with people infected and contact cases. A watch and anticipation committee of the health risks is to be created too to come up with recommendations and deliver opinions.
