Epiphany is behind us, but galettes des rois can be enjoyed all January long.
On Thursday, January 30, 2020, the Aéroville shopping center will be welcoming gourmets of all ages to discover and taste the giant galette signed, for the fourth year running, by Pastry Chef Ruben Sarfati.
Some 20 metres long (the equivalent of 3,000 slices), this huge galette des rois conceals 5 different flavours. Almond lovers will find the inevitable and traditional frangipane, but also pistachio with raspberry puff pastry, pear with almond slivers, chocolate and coconut with dried mango.
For this 4th edition, note that the eggs and apples that make up this giant creation come directly from the Pastry Chef's personal vegetable garden.
And as with every galette, no fewer than 15 fava beans are hidden in its heart. The icing on the cake is that one of them will be covered in gold leaf, offering its lucky king or queen a gourmet basket of fresh produce direct from Chef Ruben Sarfati's farm, as well as a €100 gift card. The other kings and queens will also win an Aéroville gift card.
