You may not know it, but the Tour d'Argent, Paris' historic restaurant, opened a neighborhood bakery - the Boulanger de la Tour d'Argent - a few years ago. There, they bake delicious bread, cakes and viennoiseries, and for every Epiphany, they make galettes des rois. We had a sneak preview of their 2022 galette, a guaranteed return to childhood!
This galette is already beautiful from the outside: it's quite thick, with irregularities in height, giving it an authentic, family feel, far from the perfection sought by some bakers. We love it! On the top, you can see the Maison crest, the famous Tour d'Argent, if you please.
What a lovely surprise when you taste it: with its airy, rum-flavored frangipane, the Tour d'Argent galette des Rois is a plunge into childhood. It's sure to please gourmets and little ones alike, and large families will be touched by the presence of two funny beans in the large galette. Funny beans? Yes, beans from Léa Maupetit that play with ducks, making them read a book or walk in pairs!
And the price? The 4-person galette costs 26 euros, the 6-person version 37 euros, and there's an individual version for 6.90 euros, if you'd like to try it before you buy (or just try it!). Reservations are possible, and recommended, at https://tourdargent.com/le-boulanger/
