The month of January opens with a gourmet initiative in a spirit of solidarity. RECHO, an association dedicated to the social inclusion of refugees in France, has teamed up with the talented Muriel Aublet-Cuvelier to offer its very first galette des Rois. Imagined by Muriel and carefully crafted by a team of refugee integration cooks, this pastry creation should make you melt, both for its taste and its profound meaning.
The galette unveils a melting puff pastry and a frangipane flavored with lavender honey, orange, lemon and candied melon, reminiscent of the sweet aromas of calisson. A delicate, comforting dessert, perfect for celebratingEpiphany while supporting a noble cause: all profits from the sale are donated to the association.
But that's not all. Each galette conceals an original bean designed by ceramist Sophie from the Montreuil-based Atelier sur Terre. Hand-engraved, these unique beans add a touch of authenticity to the galette. And for the lucky ones who find a bean marked with a little red heart? They'll be treated to an afternoon snack for two at BAL Café by Le RECHO, nestled in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
This "galette solidaire" is available in 6 to 8 portions for €35. You can pick it up by click & collect at one of the two pick-up points:
The initiative is spearheaded by Muriel Aublet-Cuvelier, renowned pastry chef and patron of the association. A graduate of the ENSP and Ecole Ducasse, she has been sharing her expertise for years through pastry creations via Les Secrets de Muriel and solidarity projects. Committed to Le RECHO, she promotes sharing and generosity, values at the heart of this exceptional galette.
For lovers of gastronomy and solidarity, this galette des Rois is a must, a sweet treat that combines know-how, inclusion and gourmandise.
