Heritage Days 2024 at the Paris Commercial Court: an exceptional guided tour

To mark the Journées du Patrimoine 2024, the Paris Commercial Court invites you to join us on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22, 2024. Judge-lecturers will be on hand to offer exceptional guided tours of the court, built between 1860 and 1865.

The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) are a unique opportunity to take in the sights. In addition to numerous museums and monuments, you can also discover places usually closed to the public during this annual event. For example, the courtrooms of the closed Paris Commercial Court, free of charge. In 2024, the 41st Journées du Patrimoine will take place on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22 .

The visit is an opportunity to discover the history of this building, constructed at the end of the 19th century (between 1860 and 1865) under the reign of Emperor Napoleon III. The tour takes in the courtrooms, decorated in the spirit of the decorative arts and style of the period, as well as the corridors of the Presidency, where the names of every judge since 1564 are engraved. Not to be missed: the double-revolutionstaircase , which conceals four statues set in niches. They illustrate maritime trade, land trade, mechanical art and industrial art.

    During a 45-minute guided tour, the court's judges present the most emblematic areas of this heritage site, decorated in the spirit of the decorative arts and Empire style, and listed as a historic monument. During the tour, the judges talk about their role and missions, as well as their contribution to the capital's and the country's economy.
