The Eiffel Tower is getting new and widens its food offer with starred chefs Frédéric Anton and Thierry Marx taking the head of gourmet restaurant Le Jules Verne and brasserie Le 58 Tour Eiffel as well as the take-away counters.

Very attractive and emblematic monument in Paris and even France, the Eiffel Tower renews its food offer to keep on making visitors dream and make the 6 million yearly visitors discover French gastronomy.

The Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE) wanted to entirely redesign the “visitor experience” of the millions of yearly people visiting this unmissable site in Paris. It goes through different adjustments such as managing the queues but also the varied food offer on each floor, from the forecourt to the top. The idea being to offer a more complete range of French terroir products from the forecourt to the Champagne bar on the last floor.

Forecourt:

As soon as you arrive at the recently adjusted forecourt featuring a lovely lake and beautiful green spaces filled with trees,  you can quench your thirst or grab a bite at the Cornets de la Tour Eiffel: mobile booths providing a plant-based or more traditional offer including waffles and crepes, delivery tricycles providing a range of dishes to enjoy all year long such as the Parisian hot-dog, candies, detox bar, soup bar or ice cream bar in the summer.

In order to improve the customer experience, the SETE teamed up with Ubudu – a start-up specialized in flow management and geolocation. Thanks to this partnership, “abeilles” [bees] (hosts or hostesses) equipped with a connected tablet and a credit card terminal will go from visitor to visitor and offer them to book and get their order directly delivered to wherever they are in the forecourt.

1st floor: Le Bistro & Le 58 Tour Eiffel

Le Bistro:

The current Buffet is said to close down in October 2019 before undergoing a makeover to reopen in December 2019 with new and improved features and a new name: Le Bistro. Set on the first floor of the Eiffel tower, Le Bistro aims at providing – all day long – take-away dishes so that visitors can visit the monument while enjoying sandwiches by Thierry Marx or an assortment of pastries and viennoiseries.

For lunch, let’s enjoy warm and flavorful dishes such as the “Monsieur Gustave” grilled cheese or the pasta shells with Prince de Paris hams and for dinner, we can have terroir dishes such as beef shepherd pie, salt cod and mashed potato or a vegan gratin that we can enjoy in the Brasserie area, comfortably seated.

Le bistro also is the perfect place to purchase gourmet products such as French and artisanal candies, personalized cookies and caramelized almonds and peanuts to enjoy on the spot or to bring back as souvenirs.

Le 58 Tour Eiffel, a contemporary brasserie by Thierry Marx:

Starred chef Thierry Marx will settle in the brasserie set on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower in early 2020. In the meantime, he started revisiting the menu you can discover between March 13 and September 2019.

Then, the brasserie will undergo renovation works until February 2020. During this period, the area will be entirely adjusted and improved in order to provide a food offer affordable to all and all day long.

  • From the opening to 11:30 a.m.: Enjoy a typically Parisian breakfast on the ground floor of the Brasserie.

  • From 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: On the ground floor of the Brasserie, you can get a lunch break without booking or hanging around a seated meal, for less than €30 (excluding elevator ride and drink). On the floor, you can get a more sophisticated lunch in two courses starting from €42.

  • From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Discover the team time including warm or cold drinks and pastries.

  • From 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.: the ground floor turns into a cozy bar and welcomes visitors in a lounge atmosphere. In other words, the area is like a new place of life of the Parisian night life. As for the upper floor, you can enjoy a two-course bistronomic dinner, upon booking only.

Architects Ramy Fischler and Nicola Delon are entrusted with decorating and refurbishing this space. They chose to only use natural materials especially based on soil from different French regions to break from the industrial spirit that was so in during the construction of the Eiffel Tower and emphasize the reversal of these past few years’ situation to get back to nature by using the “materiality of the soil that feeds AND builds”.

In terms of layout, the brasserie has been entirely redesigned to provide an unobstructed 360° view on Paris no matter where you are. To do so, the kitchen has been taken down to the ground floor to free some space and the middle centers are a bit higher so that you can see far without being disturbed by your neighbors.

2nd floor: Le Jules Verne and the sweet-savory counters

Le Jules Verne, gourmet restaurant by Frédéric Anton:

Three Michelin-star chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de France now working at Pré Catelan Frédéric Anton takes over the new Jules VerneEiffel Tower’s gourmet restaurant – said to reopen in late May 2019, aiming at making of this restaurant an unmissable gourmet destination in Paris.

The Jules Verne welcomes you for breakfast, lunch and dinner from late May 2019!

  • Breakfast (starting September 2019): available from 7:30 a.m., only upon boking, Le Jules Verne breakfast already sounds like something you don’t want to miss in Paris.

  • Lunch: best of the Jules Verne experience, the 3-course lunch set menu (one price, €105 per person) will delight business patrons wishing to mark an event or the touristic patrons wishing to discover this exceptional place. The tasting menu will be available in 5 or 7 courses for €190 or €230.

  • Dinner: including a first service from 6 p.m., Le Jules Verne provides every night one tasting menu in 5 or 7 courses for €190 and €230.

To redesign the place, the chef teamed up with architect Aline Asmar d’Amman and together they worked hard to redo the Jules Verne as a symbol of French elegance. They wanted to put in the restaurant their vision of the fusion between decorative arts and gastronomy and it includes an entirely refurbished area that is brighter and clearer, featuring hues of blue, grey, white like a period photograph inviting to travel in the clouds.

All around the room, many mirrors allow to reflect the light and enjoy the view that is breathtaking. Furniture is directly inspired by Gustave Eiffel’s flat when he lived in the tower.

We also have 3 rooms that already existed, naming Champs de Mars, Quai Branly and Trocadéro including two new tables in the alcoves featuring a mind-blowing view on the mechanisms of the Tower lifts.

Sweet and savory counters:

The counters on the second floor have been designed in a jewelry spirit, like boxes highlighting the sweet and savory collections.

For instance, you’ll have Maison Lenôtre macarons and chocolates, viennoiseries and mini-pastries by the Guilde des artisans as well as temporary collections that will reflect the cultural and compelling news in Paris.

3rd floor: the Champagne bar

Created like a pod between the ground and the sky, set 276-m above the ground, the champagne bar is said to reopen in spring 2019 and provide a champagne and French caviar offering for an experience out of time.

As for the decorum, the champagne bar is first and foremost a visual project aiming at making this place even more wonderful! This very space brings the best of what you could do the best in France no matter if it’s about style, audiovisual or design.

In other words, the Eiffel Tower keeps on making us dream and with this new food offer, it brings a contribution of excellence to the fame of French gastronomy worldwide.
