As the coronavirus is resurging, France has been put on lockdown again. You now have to justify your outing with a certificate proving your trip was necessary. If you own a SmartPhone, the process can be easier: you only have to show a digital certificate. Here is how to get it.

After six months out of quarantine, the second coronavirus epidemic wave leads to a new lockdown in France. From now on, French people are experiencing some déjà vu: this new lockdown signs the return of the derogatory trip certificate to prove your trip outside your home was necessary and to avoid the lockdown fine. But do you know you can generate your certificate from your smartphone?

In concrete words, this online service - also available on the TousAntiCovid app - enables to fill in a form from your mobile phone or on the Ministry of the Interior website when you go out. Fill in your name, surname, date of birth and choose why you are going out. Then, the platform generates a PDF file to save on your mobile phone and on which are automatically stamped date and hour of creation along with the QR code. Then, provided you’re controlled, show the QR code generated on your mobile phone to the forces of order who can judge of the reason and know the exact time you left your confinement place.

Of course, the printed out or copied out paper certificate remains valid as long as the quarantine lasts.
