As the SCNF is to limit the TGV and OUIGO train offer starting Thursday, the train company keeps on fighting against the coronavirus epidemic. Starting November 5, the SNCF expects to set up Covid-19 testing centers in front of railway stations in several big cities.
Created in partnership with the SCNF and the Loxamed company, aiming at increasing Covid-19 test in crowded places, this operation will start on Thursday for at least six months.
Where will these mobile testing units called “MobilTest” be set? Starting November 5, Parisians can go to the Gare de Lyon and Gare de l’Est railway stations to get tested. And from November 12, it will be the cities of Bordeaux and Marseille’s turn to house these testing centers in front of railway stations. Last but not least, Rennes is to also get one the week after.
If the process in encouraging, then “we will gladly extend the process to the entire country” SNCF Gares & Connexions customer’s experience director Carole Tabourot said.
How do these testing centers work concretely? According to the first details, up to 200 people can get tested every day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
Like in the other testing centers, PCR tests – free of charge – will be saved for symptomatic cases and contact cases in the morning. Afternoons will be open to all. But careful though, to enjoy these tests, do not forget you must sign up online before.
So, how long do you have to wait to get the results? Between 24 and 72 hours, Loxamed promises.
In the event the test is positive, a TeleDok doctor will call you and tall you your results and help you to know what to do. As for people whose tests turn negative, they will get a text message.
“From the moment someone is infected, we consider they are a patient, they are sick and they must be attended by a doctor. They are called by a doctor giving them the first indications to reassure them […] and to start a first consultation” Loxamed president Arnaud Molinié told Ouest-France.
