The family allowance fund had to clarify the situation in an article on its website. "No new aid or bonus from the Caf has been announced in recent weeks, legitimizing these articles that are based on false or very partial situations," it reads.
In reality, these 586€ mentioned everywhere are the maximum amount of the activity bonus, an aid that is not exceptional since it is paid every month since 2016. The 4.6 million people concerned are precisely the beneficiaries of this aid, but not all of them receive the promised amount. The average amount of the activity bonus is about 170€. To obtain this aid, you must be over 18 years old, have a stable job in France for at least three months and have a small salary.
