The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Meudon is housed in a large 17th-century mansion listed as a historic monument, surrounded by a magnificent flower garden adorned with sculptures.
Here you can admire works and documents relating to the history of Meudon, a town deeply rooted in French history, with its castles, heritage, prestigious sites and famous people, such as the Grand Dauphin, the Marquise de Pompadour and Auguste Rodin. The museum also houses a large collection of French landscape paintings dating from the 18th century to the present day, as well as a rare collection of sculptures and paintings from the 1950s to 1980s, illustrating the Nouvelle Ecole Paris movement.
Weather permitting, you can also take a stroll in the museum's park, a veritable French garden, where you can discover monumental sculptures.
