Fête de la Musique 2024: bands and rap in Argenteuil (95), the program in the city

Do you love music? Would you like to pay tribute to it? Then don't miss this year's Fête de la musique. As it does every year at the same time, this great popular and festive celebration takes over the streets, but also concert halls, parks and gardens, some churches, several institutions, some museums and cultural centers, not forgetting bars and restaurants.

Launched in 1982 in France, the Fête de la musique has since evolved considerably, to the point of being exported abroad. In many countries (Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia), this popular event has become a national event. By adapting to the cultural specificities of each country, the Fête de la musique has been able to invent and reinvent itself, and become a major international musical event. As proof, in 2017, over 120 countries celebrated the Fête de la musique.

This year, the Fête de la musique returns on Friday June 21, 2024 , with a host of free concerts in Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region, including Argenteuil. This large town in the Val-d'Oise region of the Ile-de-France is once again taking part in the Fête de la Musique, hosting a series of musical highlights featuring the conservatory's orchestras. There will also be an open stage dedicated entirely to the rap scene. And this year's Fête de la musique in Argenteuil kicks off on June 19 with a DJ set at the Centre Culturel et Social Conjugue. Wednesday June 19, 2024 - Centre culturel et social Conjugue: DJ SET 100% VINYL MICHAEL AVIGNON (free admission)

• 5pm: A panorama of Algerian music from the 60s and 70s, whether urban or rural, learned or popular, Arab or Berber... A DJ set that will get the Centre culturel et social Conjugue (5 All. Guy de Maupassant) up and dancing.

Friday, June 21, 2024 - Le Figuier blanc: LES ORCHESTRES FÊTENT LA MUSIQUE (free admission)

• 6.45pm and 8.30pm: The conservatory orchestras come together to offer you a wonderful musical evening. Come and discover the work of these young musicians and the richness of orchestral practice at the Conservatoire.

Friday, June 21 - La Cave: LE CONCERT RAP DES ARTISTES ARGENTEUILLAIS - OPEN MIC (free entry)

• 8:30 pm: La Cave (107 Rue Paul Vaillant Couturier) opens its doors to the city's best kickeurs! It's time to come and discover new local talent in an open stage format totally dedicated to the rap scene and its sub-genres: trap, drill, jersey, new wave, boom bap... Whether compositions or covers, artists will play up to 2 tracks each on the La Cave stage under professional concert conditions.
