Fête de la musique 2024: Cyril Atef and his "Papatef" at the 360 Paris Music Factory

Good news for our music-loving friends, as the Fête de la musique is coming back just about everywhere in France on June 21, 2024 !

As a reminder, the Fête de la Musique was created in 1982 on the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture. That year, the Ministry of Culture's studies and research department conducted a major survey of French cultural practices. It revealed that five million people, including one young person in two, play a musical instrument. So Jack Lang, architect and scenographer Christian Dupavillon, a member of his Cabinet, and Maurice Fleuret came up with the idea of a major popular event to enable all musicians to express themselves and make themselves known. The very first Fête de la Musique was launched on June 21 1982, the symbolic day of the summer solstice.

Since then, every June 21, musicians - both amateur and professional - have taken to the streets, as well as many other venues such as bars and restaurants, museums and churches, and parks and gardens, to bring live music to life for an entire day and evening, with free concerts and DJ sets.

This year, the Fête de la Musique falls on a Friday, and once again offers a host of not-to-be-missed musical highlights in Paris and the surrounding region.

The 360 Paris Music Factory is the place to be. Located in the capital's 18th arrondissement, this venue is dedicated to preserving cultural diversity and enabling developing artists to express themselves.

The artist, known to the general public for his many musical adventures with Vincent Segal (Bumcello), but also for his CongopunQ project and his collaborations with -M- and Gotan Project, will be presenting his latest project entitled"Papatef". Please note that the event is free admission. So come early!

  A veritable one-man band, simultaneously playing percussion, drum machines, turntables and vocals, Cyril Atef and his "Papatef" project will have you in a trance in just a few minutes. That's for sure! And as admission is free, a word of advice: get there early!
