The Musée Marmottan Monet welcomes us this Friday, June 21, 2024, for a very special evening: the museum is celebrating its anniversary with an immersive sound experience, to mark the Fête de la Musique in Paris.

Museums usually feature paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and objets d'art... And sometimes, singers and musicians. Especially when the Fête de la Musique returns to keep us dancing all night long.

This Friday, June 21, 2024, Paris transforms itself into a giant concert hall, and invites us to celebrate this new edition of the Fête de la Musique. For more than 40 years, music has resounded throughout France, from morning till night, during this festive and popular day, which honors classical music as much as jazz, rap, rock or island music.

Artists set up shop in every corner of the capital to share their music with us, and many museums take part in the festivities. This is particularly true of the Musée Marmottan Monet, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. On the evening of June 21, the museum is opening its doors to us free of charge for a unique musical experience.

On the program for this Fête de la musique 2024 at the Musée Marmottan Monet:

  • An immersive Fête de la Musique with Gilb'r and Radio Nova
On June 21, 1934, the Musée Marmottan opened its doors. To mark its 90th anniversary, the Parisian institution, owned by the Académie des Beaux-Arts, in partnership with Radio Nova, is offering a unique Fête de la Musique event on Friday June 21, 2024.
To celebrate its 90th anniversary, the Musée Marmottan Monet and Radio Nova are joining forces to offer the public an unprecedented immersive sound and visual experience at the heart of the Water Lilies. Gilb'r, renowned DJ, composer and producer, and former Radio Nova programmer, will perform a 2-hour DJ set from 7pm to 9pm. His experimental, synesthetic music will blend with Claude Monet's masterpieces, creating an unforgettable ambience and transcending the boundaries between the visual and sonic arts.
During the evening, visitors will also be free to explore the exhibition "En jeu! Artists and Sport 1870-1930" exhibition and the permanent collections of the Parisian institution.
    Schedule: 6:30pm - 9:30pm
    Venue: Salle des Nymphéas
Access: Free of charge, subject to availability. Please note that all exits are final.
