Fun workshops, a conference, a participatory country dinner and of course music: this is the program that awaits you on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Maison de l'Histoire et du Patrimoine in the Val-de-Marne for the new edition of the Fête de la musique!

Get out your instruments and come sing loud and clear on June 21, 2023! The traditional and unmissable Fête de la Musique is back in Paris and everywhere else in France. The Fête de la Musique is a popular and festive event that has existed in the country since 1982.

Every year for more than 40 years, musicians, whether amateur or professional, take advantage of this friendly and warm day to celebrate and make live music resound in the street, but also in bars and restaurants, concert halls, museums and cultural centers, and other unusual places.

This year, the Fête de la musique falls on a Wednesday and will once again be celebrated in many places in Île-de-France, such as at the Maison de l'Histoire et du Patrimoine in Val-de-Marne.

Located more exactly in Champigny-sur-Marne, this cultural place honors the French song as well as projections of musical events which marked the cultural history of the department. Temporary exhibitions are also regularly proposed.

On June 21, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm, for the 41st edition of the Fête de la musique, the Maison de l'Histoire et du Patrimoine offers us a program that is both cultural, friendly and festive, echoing the " Entrée-Plat-Dessert " exhibition.

Playful workshops

  • Tablecloths and cutlery: compose your menu! / From 3pm to 5pm
In a playful way, the public retraces the history of food practices, from the 18th century to the present day, by discovering the dishes eaten on a daily basis or during festive moments, as well as the tableware accompanying them.

  • Ingredients and spices: become a real chef / From 3 to 5 pm
The proposed lottery of flavors serves as an appetizer to the reflection on ingredients and spices, their appearance in France and their use in cooking, with the help of recipe books.

Conference

  • Parisian cafés and drinking establishments throughout history (19th-20th centuries) / From 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Benoît Collas, winner of the Jean Maitron 2021 and Val-de-Marne 2022 prizes, has studied the little-known history of cafés and other drinking establishments in Paris: cabarets, bistros and other estaminets that underwent profound changes in the 19th century and reveal more about their era than we think.

Participatory country dinner / From 7:30 to 8:30 pm

The public is invited to bring its own meal.

Concert / From 8:30 to 9:45 pm at the Théâtre de Verdure

I still think of you. A love story in songs...

With"Je pense encore à vous", the duet composed of Olivier Philippson and Alissa Wenz offers a real journey in the 20th century repertoire, with more than twenty famous or unknown titles, from Barbara to Charles Trenet, through Jacques Brel, Brigitte Fontaine, Serge Gainsbourg, Juliette or Anne Sylvestre.
