On June 21, we celebrate music with a series of free concerts all over the Île-de-France region. While many towns and cities in the region celebrate music by hosting a variety of musical events, Paris remains a must for dancing to the sounds of young talent and established artists alike.
Every year, the capital celebrates the Fête de la Musique with a flurry of concerts featuring rock, reggae, electro, rap, French variety, metal, zouk and classical music.
While some of the events on offer in Paris during the Fête de la musique have become unmissable, such as the 36h Saint-Eustache festival and the free France Inter evening at the Olympia, there are many other concerts to discover every June 21 in the capital, whether on the banks of the Seine, on rooftops, in squares, parks and gardens, in bars or in museums.
This year, for the 42nd edition of the Fête de la musique, the City of Paris is announcing a major participatory and inclusive gala concert hosted by the Orchestre de chambre de Paris. To be experienced on Friday June 21, 2024 on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville de Paris, this free concert will put classical music in the spotlight thanks to the presence of internationally renowned artists who will pay tribute, during this lyrical gala, to the works of Verdi, Bellini, Offenbach and Rossini.
Young musicians from various Parisian conservatories are also announced. They will join the Orchestre de chambre de Paris on the forecourt of Hôtel de Ville to perform live excerpts from Bizet's Carmen and the finale of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Note that this concert by the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, proposed for this 42nd Fête de la musique, is part of theCultural Olympiad of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Join us on June 21, 2024 on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville for this unique, free concert.
