Choisy le Roi's traditional Fête de la Ville is already underway this Saturday, June 22, from 10am to 10.30pm! Throughout the day, free events are planned to showcase the town's facilities, associations and shopkeepers.
The city is pulling out all the stops on this summer's day. In the year of the Olympic Games, the focus is on sport, with a freestyle soccer show, a group lesson in the 2024 Olympic choreography with the École municipale de Danse, rock-climbing and pumptrack introductions, as well as presentations of the city's summer programs and early childhood centers.
To mark the day after the fête de la musique, the town invited Tiken Jah Fakoly, an emblematic figure of pan-African roots reggae who has collaborated with major artists such as Soprano, Magic System, Grand Corps Malade, Amadou & Mariam, Winston McAnuff and UNICEF, while celebrating the riches of his continent in song! His Françafrique album won him a Victoire de la Musique award in 2003 in the Reggae/Ragga/World album category.
Come and discover it during a 1h30 show, in the beautiful historic setting of the Parc de la Mairie, with a bokit, a pizza, or an African dish from La Sénégalaise, many food trucks await us from 10am to 10.30pm!
