Nuit Blanche, the magical evening when art awakens and lights up the city streets, returns to Paris on Saturday June 3, 2023. It's a veritable celebration of creativity, with ephemeral works of art popping up around every corner, while surprising performances captivate the senses. Museums open their doors until dawn, offering a unique and immersive experience. Crowds mingle in an electrifying atmosphere, sharing laughter, emotions and wonder. During the Nuit Blanche, time stands still, imagination takes over and memories are created with every step!
The Musée Cognacq-Jay is a key stop on the Nuit Blanche 2023 itinerary. Located on Boulevard des Capucines, it was inaugurated on June 4, 1929 by French President Gaston Doumergue, before closing a few years later, in 1988. The collections were subsequently moved to theHôtel de Donon. The museum reopened only two years later, in 1990. The museum exhibits the collections of Ernest Cognacq and Marie-Louise Jaÿ, both founders of La Samaritaine. For Nuit Blanche 2023, the museum is offering a magical free nocturne! (owned by the City of Paris, the museum is already free all year round, with the exception of temporary exhibitions).
