For Valentine's Day 2019, discover the Heart of Paris, a work donated to our city by Joana Vasconcelos and installed at Porte de Clignancourt! On the occasion of the inauguration, scheduled for this Thursday, February 14, 2019, the Mairie invites us to a popular ball.

Paris attracts artists and often receives new works, like Jeff Koons 'Tulip Bouquet as "a gesture of friendship between the American and French people" after the attacks of 2015 and 2016" or Joana Vasconcelos ' Heart of Paris, installed on February 14, 2019 at Porte de Clignancourt.

For the inauguration, a popular ball awaits us this February 14, 2019 from 6pm to 9pm, to the sound of the Petit Orchestre Parisien, dress code heart and glitter to make hearts capsize on Valentine's Day.

ThePortuguese artist has imagined a large Heart for the Porte de Clignancourt, placed at the top of a mast to be visible from far away, like a beacon guiding all visitors to the capital and its 18th arrondissement.

The work, made of 3,800 hand-painted azulejos covered with LEDs, offers two different visual experiences. During the day, the Heart of Paris rotates to be visible to all, and in the evening, the heart illuminates the district to the rhythm of a beating heart.

This beautiful symbol, created by a neighborhood collective and the Maison Bleue social center, was brilliantly implemented by Joana Vasconcelos, a committed artist! We still remember her exhibition in Versailles (2012), where she displayed her Coeur indépendant Rouge made of red plastic cutlery, and Marilyn, a giant pair of pumps made from saucepans!
